Privacy is an important facet of life. Nobody wants people peeking into their backyards. While chain link fences are well suited to keeping things out, they’re not very well suited for privacy. Sometimes you have to add a little something to them to make them work for your privacy, while still looking nice. Check out some of the different ways we’ve found to add some privacy and coverage to your chain link fence.
- Fence Slats – You can go for decorative or just utilitarian with these. Since they come in varieties of colors, you can choose to get fancy with them if you’d like and weave them into your fence. Fence slats are also meant to stand up against wind, dirt, and rain, so they’re incredibly useful for coverage and privacy.
- Rolled Fencing – If you like to get decorative, rolled fencing could be the best solution for you. You can get bamboo in rolled fencing, which will stand up to most elements and is economically friendly. You’ll need to trim the bamboo at the bottom to ensure that there isn’t any ground contact, though.
- Evergreen Fillers – These nifty things will make your fence look like a mobile hedge. You can get fillers that fit individually into the chain links. These are usually made of PVC, which means that they’re maintenance free while still offering a cool aesthetic.
- Flowering Vines – This is a pretty, safe, and good environmentally friendly way to add some privacy to your chain link fence. Install some chain link mesh first to help the flowering vines find guidance on the fence and let them do the work from there. This solution is fairly inexpensive, aesthetically pleasing, and good for the environment.
You don’t have to sacrifice privacy or style with a chain link fence; you just have to know how to decorate it to give it better coverage and a more aesthetically pleasing look.
